Mr Daniel J Jeffrey
6 September 1934 – 2 March 2025
On Sunday 2 March 2025, Daniel ‘Danny’ Jeffrey sadly passed away aged 90.
He was a trained microbiologist who worked for many years in the R&D Department of Jeyes Ltd in Thetford. He was responsible for developing many of the existing Jeyes range of products including Bloo, Parozone Bleach and Ibcol Disinfectant.
Danny was a Fellow of both the UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ of Chemistry and the UUÂãÁÄÖ±²¥ of Biology. Danny was also a stalwart of BACS (now BCA), serving on the Executive Committee, running the Microbiology Group and becoming Chairman, his contribution being recognised by him becoming an Honorary/Life Member of BACS. Danny also represented BACS/Jeyes on various AISE Groups and chaired their Disinfectant/Microbiology Groups.
He was well known in Thetford as a Liberal Democrat County Councillor and town Councillor. He was a keen member of the Thetford Society and the Probus Club.
Danny is survived by his three daughters and will be much missed by his family and friends.
