Thanet Archery Club has been giving Thanet people the opportunity to partake in the sport of Archery for over 70 years. In those 70 years, the club has moved about the area shooting in Cliffsend, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and now at Ursuline College, Birchington-on-Sea and Manston Airport. The club caters for all ages and abilities having been the starting point for several county target archers and even to National and International levels. During the club's existence it has catered for disabled archers, people with learning difficulties and sight-impaired archers. Recently the club has a strong junior membership.
The Kent Local Section committee has booked an afternoon 鈥榯aster session鈥� at the Archery Club for members, though sadly there is a lower age limit of 12 for participants. Starting with a safety talk (an important feature given the nature of the event!), you will shoot 10 arrows to get a feel of the bow, the tension needed and the aiming technique鈥�.and then the competition. Your next two dozen arrows will be scored and following a break for tea/coffee you will practice your accuracy against a range of 鈥榬ubber animal targets鈥� before finishing off at the popinjay (to save you looking it up on Google, this is an 8 metre pole with four pigeons perched on top). Although this will be a fun afternoon, scores will be collated and the winner with the highest score will receive a prize

The cost to members and guests is 拢15.00 pp. (a significant discount on the full price of 拢25.00). Payment by BACS is preferred and account details will be supplied on receipt of your booking request. Once payment is received, confirmation of your place(s) will be sent by email.
